Head to Winthrop Avenue in Indianapolis this Saturday for the seventh annual Indy Folk Festival. This all day event will feature a great music, vendors and delicious beer. This year the Indy Hostel has two stages for an incredible line-up of acts. Everything wraps up a with a live finale at The Vogue Theater.
For this year’s event, the Indy Folk Fest has chosen Felege Hiywot Center. This group has used gardening as a way of serving urban youth, second generation Ethiopians and orphans of in Ethiopia for the past 13 years. Their programs, like the Youth Farm Initiative, help teach community service and action.
Indy Folk Fest kicks off at 11am at the Indy Hostel. Music begins on the Jackalope stage at 11am and will feature 11 bands. The Gnome stage will have 8 performances beginning at 12:45pm.
As always, the Vendor Village will be open with locally crafted jewelry, clothing and more. Indy Folk Fest sponsor Upland Brewing will be on hand with delicious Indiana beer. Other local sponsors include Ezra’s Enlightened Café, Good Earth Natural Food Store, Illinois St Food Emporium, Metazoa Brewing, Union Jack Broad Ripple, White Pine Wilderness Company, Slane and The Vogue Theater.

The live finale at The Vogue kicks off at 10pm and features Rumpke Mountain Boys, Restless Leg String Band and Bigfoot Yancey. The finale is free to Indy Folk Fest attendees.
