Maybe you noticed, maybe you didn't: last week there was no Short Walk playlist. Usually I'd chalk it up to my brain's eggs cracking and tripping me up, but not this time. This time it was on purpose. Things are changing around here, you see, and A Short Walk isn't going away, but it'll come around less often to make room for other playlists. Once a month you'll hear from me in the manner to which we have all become accustomed; we'll take a short walk through what's new and exciting in the MFT archive. However, in addition to that, you'll also be treated to monthly genre and vibe deep dives. I'll be soundtracking your party, be they slumber, birthday, or otherwise, as well as any other life event you can think of.
And then--biggest change alert--once a month I'll invite someone else from the community in to curate a playlist. This way it's not just me yammering on week after week and we can get a bit more of a varied outlook on what's going on in this here archive. Stay tuned for more info on those playlists as they arrive, becuase they're going to be great.
This week's playlist is exactly 80% new additions to the archive. We start it off with a throwback, because why not, and because Tammar were my heroes when both me and they were hanging out in Bloomington, and because they give us that dreamy soft-focus that I was craving to transition perfectly into this hilt-step new jam from Bomb Deluise. That track limps in the best way, reader.
Elsewhere in the playlist Wife Patrol delightfully plea for a bit more money from mom and dad, Thick Jones goes wicked on some heavy soul beats, and Charles R. Hetrick zones us to the outer limits of pop. Times might be changing, but the perpetual onslaught of the new and good is eternal.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
