As I write I have watched the sharp outlines of IUPUI's campus turn soft and white under this first heavy snow. It's cold and I'm bummed and I'm running a space heater but at least it's kind of pretty out. That'll last until rush hour, at least.
In this, the weather's honor, I've plopped a new James and the Drifters track up top of this playlist. It's a nice homage to the holiday season, and it's chopped in half almost immediately by the follow-up scorcher from Lafcadio. I'm all about these one-two punches lately. Such is the way of things.
In the remainder of the playlist we're joined by new tunes from the likes of Oh Hi, Stella, Pale Giants, and Whale Bones, as well as some other deeper sweetness in the form of 10-ton beats from Acexz and a classic cover from TheRedBlack. There's even an old track from The Davenports--a band featuring MFT's fearless founder Jeb Banner himself.
Continue to vibe with me. I will do no worse than trick you with a metal song following a gentle holiday ballad. There are no snowballs that will come from this guy, I swear.
Thanks, as ever, to Smallbox for their unceasing help in making these playlists possible.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
