A good assortment of new stuff has found its way into this week's playlist. Dime Store Hustlers and Dragstrip are holding down the rock n' roll fort for you with some shake, and a little bit of rage. And of course there are also some of my favorite archive stalwarts FM Fiction with another difficult to classify release called The Ships Are Sailing that just dropped. Reader, I invite you to visit the FM Fiction page and scroll on down to that related artists area and just dive. There is such an array of stuff in there that 2016 me can scarcely tell you where to begin. 2014 me might've been a little more confident.
I would be severely blowing it if I did not also mention the brand new IN Cover from Dirtbike. The band's got a new LP coming out very soon (peep them on Facebook for updates) and they straight up blaze through this Dancing Cigarettes cut.
As for the rest of the playlist, it's your usual grab bag of great stuff from the archive. I just got moved in to a new house, and I was digging through my records and found the very first Tammar LP that I bought of them back when I was in college and lucky enough to play a show with them. It was a dreamy set that I caught back in the days when the Waldron hosted shows on the regular, and the LP is hand painted and beautiful and hanging on my wall now. "The Last Line" is lovely.
And, as ever, this week's playlist also contains the requisite, "I had no idea this band was in the archive or even existed until I was scanning the site for stuff to put in this playlist!" inclusion in the form of a straight up bonkers track from Large Bee. Play it loud and try not to rend your garments.
Thanks as ever to Smallbox for helping to make these weekly playlists happen!
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
