If you're the type of person who makes a habit of reading about local music and in so doing you've paid even a mite of attention to bylines, then there is no way you don't already know Seth Johnson's name. Dude is a music writing machine, cranking out pieces for all manner of publications on any piece of music that's perks up his radar faster than most of us can even form a sentence (he is, as I'm sure you've guessed, a valued contributor to this very blog as well).
Well, Seth's birthday is coming up, and he's celebrating in style, with a massive, day-long festival at State Street Pub featuring an assortment of local favorites, most of whom are represented in the playlist up top. Grab the details here. It's going down on April 2nd, starting at 4pm. And get this: all proceeds go toward benefiting MFT!
"How might one discover some additional details about the performers at this event?" you're probably wondering. Well how about you read Seth's writing about all of them? He's written about Pope Adrian Bless, Fine Young Casuals, White Moms, The Bonesetters, Sirius Black, and Hoops right here on this very blog. How have his fingers not fallen off? Well, it turns out that our human fingers are pretty resillient generally speaking, and that Seth actually has a special bone thing going on in the ole' phalanges giving him a distinct advantage over the rest of us. It's a whole thing.
Anyway, dive in to these great tracks, dive in to the great writing, and protect your fingers from harm.
