Well Chreece is behind us and it popped off bigger than any pop-predictor could've predicted. If you're still somehow wondering what Chreece is and are about to ask how you can prepare yourself for next year, I'm going to direct you to Jon Rogers' exhaustive contribution to the A Short Walk playlist series last week in honor of the fest. He's got all the details and more hot jams than you will be able to handle, I guarantee.
As for me and my playlist, we will rep the week. Tuesday night finds the Bishop hosting a stacked lineup of Rozwell Kid, Sleeping Bag, and Winslow. If you come away from this one without every single song stuck in your head, there might be something wrong with you. I'll call the doctor.
If the jams are so thoroughly stuck in your head come Friday such that you can't make out of Bloomington, then you may as well hop on over to Upland for the annual Hillbilly Haiku Music fest. It kicks off at five and it features the Larry Keel Experience, Lindsay Lou & the Flatbellys, T.V. Mike & the Scarecrows, and Glass Mountain. And, of course, up in Indianapolis, MFT's Spark Monument Circle concert series will continue on Friday, featuring Video Grave playing at 12:30 and Scanlines at 5:00.
Early Saturday marks the return of MFT's monthly in-store at Indy CD & Vinyl. This month, in honor of our dear departed Chreece, the in-store will feature the local hip-hop acts AG tha Pharoah, Skypp, Ares, and Pope Adrian Bless. After, for those inclined, Grove Haus will host Digital Dots, ByBye, and Dog Brother.
If all of this sounds too good to be true, then you might be delusional, because I would never lie in a blog post.
Thanks, as ever, to Smallbox for their support in making this weekly playlist a possibility!
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
