There's a lot going on this week. There's always a lot going on. This week though, if you're like me and you like weird sounds possibly set to video, then there's a lot going on that you're thinking really hard about in advance. Tonight, for example, my boy Sedcairn Archives is doing a screening of the visual album for his LP from earlier this year Mammoth Cave at General Public Collective. Now I know what you're thinking: "Didn't we read on this blog about a video for a Sedcairn Archives track? Is this release related to that?" Well reader, thanks for having a great memory, and though you are a delight, you are incorrect, as that marvelous little video (peep it here) was made by Ethan Marosz, and the collection of videos at hand were made by BrainTwins. Lots of videos floating around is what I'm saying.
Also tonight at Kismet, the mighty Sissy Spacek will tear their way through our unsuspecting city with support from Sky Thing (in what will be, I believe, their/his final performance in Indianapolis before moving away) and Rob Funkhouser. Sissy Spacek will grind their way to The Spot in Lafayette on Thursday night, when they'll be supported by Periodic Table Tennis and a special impromptu Spot Boner Jam featuring members of Squirming, Teen Brigade, Pnature Walk, Golden Moses, REV//REV, and more.
Buzz ahead to Wednesday, and the delightful human treasures that make up S.M. Wolf will have returned from tour to find themselves again at the White Rabbit alongside the likes of Digital Dots, Ruby Buff, and The Lopez. Neat!
If you can find some place to sleep at the White Rabbit on Wednesday night, you may as well post up, because on Thursday and Friday night, Rad Summer will host their Anniversary Party. Thursday night features live acts such as Oreo Jones, Sirius Black, and Party Lines, while Friday will be in with the DJs, such as Lemi Vice, Action Jackson, and Shy Guy Says.
And finally (and a little sadly) Friday night at the Hi-Fi, Bloomington sweethearts Rodeo Ruby Love will play their final show alongside Mike Adams at His Honest Weight. Unfortunately the thing is already sold out (because their hearts really are that sweet), but if you've already got a ticket or are especially good at sneaking in to places (something I definitely don't condone, obviously, please no one yell at me) then you're in for it. I know.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
