Most mornings I wake up and wonder to myself about what it is that I've become, so I'm identifying hard with that show poster up there right now. I look in the mirror and I don't even recognize myself. There's gray hair on my temples, a tribal tattoo around my neck, and a gash on my left cheek. My eyes are bugging, too, but for me that's less because of drugs and more because I think I accidentally had my goggles on too tight in the pool. Whatever, though, same difference. Tonight, I've got a birthday party to attend at the White Rabbit and my old-man legs will carry me there.
Will your legs--old, young, man, woman, or otherwise--carry you there as well? Will you celebrate the births of Jon Wood and Sean Jones, a.k.a. "Mac" and "Oreo," respectively? Will you, in so doing, help to support Musical Family Tree, as the kind men Mac and Oreo have deigned to donate proceeds from their birthday celebration to us and our goal of spreading Indiana music? Will you stand a safe distance from the speakers so as not to risk visiting damage upon your fragile ear drums?
Of course we all hope yours is a resounding "yes" on all accounts, but it is only you who can decide. To support your decision making process I have included a brief playlist containing an assortment of tracks from some of the performers on this evening's birthday bill, including the Mac and the Oreo themselves, in addition to Sirius Blvck and Jorma Whittaker. None of it's on the archive, but you can also hear some Phases here, creep on Rachel and Jonny, and look forward to hot jams getting dropped by DJ Mild Cherry Pappas in between sets. It's all only $5, and sure, I'm biased, but I think it's a good cause.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
