Well well well, it's Monday. Tomorrow--Tuesday, I mean--Ray Creature and Lech will chill with Iceland's Börn at The Back Door in Bloomington. And by "chill" I mean, "remind everyone that death is a very real force in this universe," because it'll get dark and dank and death rocky during that show, I guarantee it. I played a show at the Back Door recently and I got the feeling it would be pretty receptive to this vibe, no matter how brightly-colored and bedecked by the art of Keith Haring the bathrooms were.
Fast forward to Thursday and there's an MFT-sponsored hip-hop takeover plotted for The White Rabbit. Snapshots is the name, shredding the cones on your subwoofer is the game: Ares, New Wave Collective, Diop, AG that Pharaoh, and more!
Friday's always busy, but this Friday's even more busy than usual because it's First Friday. Vacation Club, Digital Dots, Hot Screams, and Phyllis will hit up the State Street Pub. Mike Adams, Metavari, and Wet Blankets will wobble themselves through the Joyful Noise space. John Flannelly and Rob Funkhouser will go head-to-head Celebrity Deathmatch style (I assume) on Olive Street in Fountain Square. You will split yourself three ways cell-division style and be everywhere you've always dreamt of being all at once.
And on Saturday, don't worry, I've got your night planned out. Come out early to the MFT Monthly in-store at Indy CD & Vinyl featuring Gypsy Moonshine and S.M. Wolf, then pop just a bit further south to the Melody Inn to see We Are Hex, Obnox, and The Timmys at The Melody Inn. Wow, that was easy. I should become a professional evening planner for young adults in Indianapolis. Sounds like a fulfilling career path, to be honest.
The last two tracks on the playlist are new additions to the archive. Of course the No Coast track is from our fledgling IN Covers project which as way more coming soon, and the second is a head scratcher of a jam from Narcoleptic Shark. Good closers if you ask me. Maybe I'll add playlist creation to my career path too? Wait a minute.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
