It's Friday and this week's artwork comes from that time, earlier this week, when I went to a major sporting goods store to buy some special pant things so I could run outside without entirely freezing. That was a personal anecdote and an additional fold to the personal anecdote is that I haven't gotten to use those special pant things yet because it's been so cold that the pants, despite whatever science is in them, would've been rendered completely impotent. What I'm saying is, HOW ABOUT THAT WEATHER WE'VE BEEN HAVING?
Anyway, the playlist is made up mostly of new stuff because there's been a huge influx of stuff I'm excited about recently. It's always cool when Dr. Ray comes in hot, for example, so this particular weather-chatting blog writer was psyched to see Green Pants poking up in the What's New tab. The same goes for David Barajas, who at this point seems to just have one new track (which is in the playlist), but it's a good one, and it drove me to hit up Red Minutes all over again which is one of my all time favorite MFT discoveries. If you're in the mood to add a new tape to your family, consider checking out Holy Infinite Freedom Revival's tape reissue of Red Minutes.
Speaking of tapes, how about that MFT Preservation Series? Flaco's thoroughly ass-kicking IKWYDLS is one of the first editions in the series, and we just got the digital files added to the archive. I bet you're straight up thirsting for a feature or something on Flaco right now, aren't you? Shout out to Seth Johnson for providing just that right here on this very blog. And, speaking of transitions and shout outs to features that exist, what about Rob Peoni's write-up in NUVO about She Does Is Magic's new LP Strangers? What about it, indeed. Hi, Rob! "Beginning of Everything" from that album is in the playlist above.
I only talked about four songs in this post. That means there are six others are cloaked in mystery. That's how I like it. As ever, thanks for walking and talking with me, and be sure to meet me here next week for big bad playlist number 20.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
