We don't sleep at MFT. Or, more specifically, I, Taylor, blog editor guy, do sleep sometimes, but I'm fairly certain most of my MFT-connected buds do not, and since it is my goal to approximate the personal radness of my various MFT-connected buds, I wanted to attempt to claim to number among the sleepless, even though, confession, I went to bed at like 12:30 last night. The point: As you may have noticed, just yesterday we debuted the Music Video in a Day for HEN's "Bubblegum Purse," and as you may have further noticed, I've got the specific pleasure of debuting yet another MVIAD, this one for Merc Versus' track "Lost;" watch that one above. How can any of this be happening at such a clip if anyone is actually sleeping?
The video comes from Dylan May of Running Bodies Productions, and as ever, his camera work and editing nicely complements the track at hand. Versus' flow is a of an under-the-table sort that's stuffed through with impressive density. The hooks, when they arrive, don't seem to break off from his flow, but continue straight out of them, making the whole track feel almost as if it came out in a single breath, a single thought. May keeps the camera mostly tight on Versus as he sits in a stairwell, only occasionally flitting off for flashy overlays or split screens.
If you like what you're hearing from Versus here, be sure to check his other stuff--we've got a good selection in the archive already (including a few more tracks off the Magnetic release from which "Lost" is taken--listen to those above), and you can always hit him up over on Facebook.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
