I can hear you out there thinking, "Is he really going to come through with one of these playlists in his post-Thanksgiving stupor?" And I can further hear you concluding to yourself, "No, he probably won't, dude does not seem to go hard enough in the paint for that." I am Jack's strong urge to prove you wrong.
This week, as per the paint in which I'm going hard, we kick things off with a nearly eleven minute straight freakout from Teen Brigade called "Taylor Swift." I love it, but then I love anything appended with the name "Taylor Swift" so I'm not going to be super objective. It's off the latest Teen Brigade release called Comfort Zone 1. Teen Brigade played at one of MFT's in-stores at Indy CD & Vinyl awhile back--peep those recordings below.
And yes, let's hang out in that bizarro liminal space for a minute with the likes of Mine., Hot Fighter #1, and Chieftan. This playlist, if nothing else, is evidence of the fact that my number one criterion for music is whether or not it makes me feel a little weird. If I come out off-kilter and sweaty I'll come back for another ride, no doubt. That feels fitting because it's Thanksgiving week and a bunch of us are partying with family. I'd say hanging out with family has the potential to be the second weirdest thing in all of existence, narrowly beat out only by the mere fact that it is 2014, we're all alive at the same time, and most of us have computers in our pockets that let us talk to the internet.
Anyhow, peace out until next week, friends/enemies/frenemies. As always, if you've got tips for future inclusions, hit me up via email or Twitter--I love to hear from people who are engaging with my brand.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
