Let's just be real: sometimes there's so much new music being added to the MFT archive that it can be difficult to keep up - or even know where to begin. Trust me, as the guy who has manually approved nearly every new addition to the archive in the last 3 years, I'm well aware of the staggering volume and diversity of the MP3s that are constantly pouring in.

But hey, what if somebody took a little time to just make a playlist featuring a bunch of the best new additions to the archive? Well, friend, if that sounds like something you'd be into, today is your lucky day!

Embedded below and available at this here link, I have compiled 40-plus tracks of my personal new favorites in the archive, all just for the sheer love of Indiana's ever-expanding musical universe. Call it a an addendum to Buzzfeed's recent list of "12 Hoosier Bands You Must Listen To;" call it a simple entry point; call it a sonic GPS to guide you through the immense labyrinth of new Indiana music; hell, call it whatever you want, but listen and share, then listen some more.

Each new trek through the playlist will reveal plenty of satisfying novelty, but all these acts are also worth a deeper look (whenever you find the time, of course). Whether it's the hip hop sounds of HP and King God, the inventive rock and roll melodies of the filipino snares, the uncanny soul-meets-ska blend of The Circle City Deacons, or the more chilled-out electronic stylings of Rob Funkhouser and Kaiton Slusher, there truly is something here for fans of almost any style of music. It's sequenced in a suggested order to give it a bit of flow, but if you find yourself hating a specific track, contentment is but one click of the "forward" button away.

Please enjoy, and be sure to check out more from any artist whose work sparks your interest! Then get yourself to MFT's upcoming New Music Showcase at Maltese Tiger on October 4 to catch some of these up-and-coming artists in a live setting (such as Chives, John Flannelly, Jessica Albatross, The Ramettes, and many more).
