Can anyone remember the month of June? I can't. I drank one too many diet sodas, if you catch my drift. Faulty, soda-soaked memories are precisely the reason we created audio recording software though, so it's all good. Above you'll find embedded the recordings I did with Justin Shimp of BrainTwins waaaay back in June at Indy CD & Vinyl. They feature DMA and Bored. Keep your eyes peeled for our recordings of Blue Moon Revue and Freddie T. and the People earlier in July, too. These new recordings are coming sooner than you can imagine. If you're feeling saucy, you can check out sets from Heather French Henry, Caleb McCoach, Popular Ego, and the Constants in our archives, too.
DMA ripped through a quick set of just three tracks off of Pheel Phree in addition to two tracks from his Tuffblades project. Also, in between tracks he did some "sonic exploring" if you'll excuse the corny phrase. What I really mean is, he did a little bit of improvising in the manner of his new new project Sedcairn Archives, which goes off in noisier directions. If you were at the MFT Noise-a-Thon, you know the dude's got chops in that arena. Dude does so much music, it's crazy. How is he not tired? Does he also indulge in a caffeinated diet soda from time to time?
Bored. brought the party. I don't really know what else to say. Dudes raged. It was loud and it was fun. Benny, FLACO, TAG, and Lyon each took turns blazing through their individual tracks. I also don't know how they're not tired. Maybe I'm just projecting because I got distracted last night and didn't go to bed until three and then had to get up for work at seven? Maybe.
Anyhow, if these recordings have your interest piqued, you can check DMA out tonight (July 24) at the Hi-Fi with Pattern is Movement, and you can scope another Bored. set at Sabbatical in Broad Ripple on August 22nd. Also, don't you dare forget about the next MFT in-store at Indy CD & Vinyl: it's on August 2nd, starts at 7pm, and it'll feature Vacation Club and Teen Brigade. Cool? Peters, out.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
