Indiana University's legendary chancellor, Herman B. Wells, played a shaken rhythm instrument on at least one of the band's recorded tracks.

The band's polished, surf-derived sound came into focus when Terrill and Cook jammed together acoustically (Terrill has excellent demos of these sessions). Playing the burgeoning alternative tour circuit in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky, and garnering very favorable reviews for the released tapes and EPs, the band came to an end when Cook opted out and Brewer and Terrill shifted their focus to the much rawer outfit, the Walking Ruins.

After John Terrill and Steve Cook play a few Second Story shows they add Nathan Sturm on drums and Phil Reavis on bass. During the summer of 1986 Brian Kearney joins on sax and this lineup records Dragon in the Field and the Anthem of the Sun/Uptight 45
1987 - Tom Dewers replaces Phil on bass. This lineup recorded Under the Apple Tree.
Then Tom moved to guitar when Steve left and Ian Brewer joined the band on bass. This lineup recorded a live cassette release
1990 - Phil returns on bass after Ian left. A couple drummers come and go in place of Nathan. The last show includes John, Tom, Brian, Phil and David Miller on trumpet with Mike Runyan on drums.
