Such moisture captures the sound of "progress," changing it to soft rumble. In the early morning, by yourself and caught between buildings, that rumble changes again, now becoming the disquiet of wearing headphones without music. Fall in Indianapolis doesn't permit a natural decline in temperature anymore. Hot summer stickiness lingers--then, quite suddenly, gray skies, wet streets, and a bitter cold that refuses to withdraw until April. Red Light Driver formed in the fall of 2006 in the "Circle City." Take a picture at rush-hour this time of year: red lights, drivers.and not much else. If you left the shutter open on said picture, you'd almost hear what their music sounds like--droned out Telecasters and bright white Rickenbackers; natural and manipulated drum beats, analog accents and danceable bass lines, all mingling to form a cohesive, moody coolness. Add smart, wry lyrics and fluid vocal harmonies, and you have a sound track of uncommonly moving pop songs. Red Light Driver puts the avant-garde back in pop music.
