  • Thank you for the Schuba´s gig! A welcome opportunity to hear some of the new songs and to make the wait a bit easier to take. I came to know your music quite late (through the best of 2008-list on "letters have no arms" btw), but it has been accompanying me ever since. So thanks for a great fourteen months actually! Long may you run! Love, Patrick

  • I love this band.

  • I love that you post demos/ live shows for everyone to hear. I've been a huge margot fan ever since I saw Richard and Emily play an acoustic set right before "Dust of Retreat" came out. Some of my favorite margot songs are b-sides (Cheap Motel Room, Waking up and Walking Out, etc.) , so I'm glad I've had the chance to hear them.

It's also really interesting to hear all the different versions of "Broadripple." It seems like that one song that you just couldn't figure out how to do right. I do think that the final "Not Animal" version is the best, although I enjoy the original full band rock version quite a bit as well. (So far I've only heard live versions of that).

Emily's background vocals on the demo version of "The Ocean" are perhaps the best background vocals I've ever heard in my life. I was heartbroken that they were not a part of the album version, althought I do like the overall way the song was recorded.

That's all I have to say about margot for the moment.
