Original, rough mix by Matt Vankersen. Recorded in John Zeps' basement practice area live. Some guitar overdubs. Vocals were not cut live.
Recorded using Cubase.
Towels hanging from mic stands. SM57s everywhere.
8-string bass borrowed from Todd Cravens.
Just after tracking vocals, Matt put down this mix. These are the tracks, straight pre-production. Matt was not able to finish the project. The CD-released version on Hawthorne Street Records was mixed, remixed, mastered, and remastered.
If you compare the recordings, these represent the band's sound as most people experienced live.
The line up for this recording was John Zeps, Jon Michael Gioe, Tommy Roosa, and Tony Reitz.
John Michael Gioe later went to sing for Turncoat Serenade and then King Duece.
John Zeps plays with pretty much anyone worth playing with.
Tony Reitz went to play in Svetlana and then Yuki.
Tommy Roosa, John Zeps, and Tony Reitz went on to play with Vess Rhutenberg in Action Strasse.
