Not only were they the nicest people ever to don instruments, Arcade made wonderful, melodic, and edgy music; played to sold-out crowds; and toured the nation in their GMC Safari. They were ready to record a follow-up to their debut, Into the Light, when their label (Wooden Man Records) received an ominous cease and desist letter. The author of the letter claimed to have rights to the Arcade band name and threatened drastic action. Thus Killjoy Confetti was born, and plans were made to record another album. The Fun Is... was recorded in January at Semaphore Recording Studios with Bob Weston and mixed and mastered by John Golden. A few tours afterwards, the Killjoy Confetti gang went their separate ways.
