Intro to Airlift was a three-piece outfit from Bloomington, Indiana. Much to the amusement of a handful of their die-hard fans, they were largely considered a mod band. The players came from some of the most important bands of Bloomington's basement DIY scene of the early '90s. Eli McCormick (guitar and vocals) played in the Yarnmarvins, Marty Sprowles (bass) came from Yellow Based Red, and Pete Schreiner (drums and vocals) was in the Special Guests and Sway Kiss. They toured the East Coast several times in their few years together, their last being in the summer of 1997. Marty and Pete now play with the ever-present the Panoply Academy.
