About: | It’s not too much of a stretch to say that IMN was a pretty important website to the city of Indianapolis. (It even won the overall “Best Website in Indianapolis” award in the annual NUVO Newsweekly “Best of Indy” awards). IMN was like MySpace & Facebook for the city of Indianapolis (before MySpace existed). During its heyday, IMN boasted over 10,000+ active users during its most popular time, featuring over 800+ local band micro-sites and literally hundreds of thousands of user driven event listings during 2001-2005. For more IMN, check out the WAYBACK MACHINE: https://web.archive.org/web/20040708042211/http://www.indianapolismusic.net/index.php IndianapolisMusic.net was originally a custom programmed site started by Matt Fecher in 2001. Over the years, IMN evolved and was later helmed by the very talented duo of Steve Hayes & Ryan Williams. |
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
2004,
IMN reached the height of its popularity with the release of the “Indy MP3 CD-Rom”, which featured over 100 Indianapolis artists. Over 20,000 physical copies of the CD-Rom were produced and given away, free of charge to the Indianapolis public.
“From jazz and blues to rock-n-roll, Indianapolis music fans will find what they’re looking for on one CD from our talented, local musicians.” – Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson
