NME - "No one can ever replace the legend that was Marc Bolan, but this 'Metal Guru'-sounding number from the self-described "electric sleaze/bubblegum psych" trio comes pretty close. It will certainly make you want to listen to T. Rex all night long."
TheFADER.com - "Burnt Ones is a great band name because it kinda sounds like a Mobb Deep song, which is tough, and also stuff that’s been on fire, which is ehhh summery? Regardless, this trio out of Indianapolis is as tough and on fire as their neighboring Butler basketball team (Duke game was a travesty of dreams), and we’re rooting for them. This song is from their new All Night Long 7-inch on Roaring Colonel Records, the label founded by longtime music blogspot My Old Kentucky Blog, to be released on April 15th. You will probably not be surprised to find out that it rings of salad days T. Rex, but with appropriate modern twists like lo-fidelity."
ViceUK - "Unfortunately for Burnt Ones this is the worst song title I’ve ever come across. However, I guess it’s touching how much they love Bolan. It’s weird then that this song is a mix of Americana and that great British mid-Eighties fuzzy indie guitar sound. I don’t think they have released too much or played that much."
You Ain't No Picasso - "Did they fire up T. Rex’s “Metal Guru” on a haunted karaoke machine and then sing a completely different melody over it? Probably not, but it gives you a fair idea what to expect. This track is awesome and they totally weren’t joking about loving T Rex."
Listen, Damnit- "Not only does Listen, Dammit, fully endorse the activity described in the title of “Gonna Listen to T-Rex (All Night Long),” we like that Burnt Ones set the tune to a glammy T. Rex drum beat, topped it with fuzzed-out guitar and added tons of reverb."
The Buddha Den- "…admittedly, we’re suckers for 70s glam rock, so it’s really no surprise that this new track from Indianapolis trio Burnt Ones caught our ears. While the song’s lyrical theme may be thinly veiled, it’s sonic characteristics make us think of slightly more Stateside influences, like The Go doing a Ziggy impression."
