About:Bro. Stephen (aka Stephen Scott Kirkpatrick) is another in the world’s long list of unsettled souls. From his sheltered religious upbringing in rural Michigan, to his escape and early adulthood – a period of great personal discovery – in Louisville, KY, to his current state of constant world traveller, Bro. Stephen has always relied on his songs as an outlet, a means for relating to the strangers he encounters, and a cathartic experience when there’s no one else to talk to. All of this is meticulously evidenced in each and every song as they are simultaneously spartan and eerie, hopeful and beautiful, and catchy and memorable. Every song that Bro. Stephen writes is a testament to his wandering existence, his mercurial past, and his outstretched hand to the people around him.
