 1973, Columbia / Tompkins Square,

Indiana's Bill Wilson drove to Nashville and knocked on producer Bob Johnston's kitchen door in 1973. Johnston had produced records by Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Leonard Cohen, among others. Bob let him in to play a few songs, liked it, and rounded up his crew that played on Dylan's 'Blonde on Blonde.' They recorded 'Ever Changing Minstrel' that night, and it was released on Columbia Records in 1973. The album is now reissued with rare photographs, notes by reissue producer and Tompkins Square label owner Josh Rosenthal, and remastered from the original tapes.

  • I remember the summer of 1979 Bill would be playing at a club off of 71st St. It was called The State of Indiana. The place would be packed. He was so talented and also a super nice person. He used to drop by my house and even come by my work place, The Waffle House off Graham Rd. He was a creative genius who lost his life tragically way too soon....

  • I have been on a desperate search for a copy of “Traction In the Rain” since my cassette wore out years ago. Does anyone have a CD or digital copy? I would give anything to hear “Rolling Home” again! Thank you

  • I have Bill's complete collection but I've always wondered after listening to him live, if he ever recorded "A Soldier's Song"?
I would love to know and if so, where I can purchase or download it?
It may be titled " The Day The Band Forgot to Play"?

  • I saw Bill Wilson up close and personal twice.. once at the Hummingbird.. Mr.Wilson asked for requests.I blurted out to please play "To Rebecca"..Bill played a different tune then went on break. My x husband and I went to the parking lot and smoked a joint! When we sat back down Bill Wilson scarred me! He looked me right in the eyes and he walked right up to my table, put his foot on the chair next to me and played To Rebecca looking at me and singing to me!!! I was in my early twenties.I had so much saddness then(and now).Mr Wilson made me so special that night.Teresa L. Puckett
