About:The band's history prior to the Fall of 1984 is unclear. The Beertonez, as it was best known, formed out of an accidental meeting. Musicians Dan S (bass) and John "Jammin' JD" Ross met in the Fall of 1983 one time. It would be over a year later in the Fall of 1984 when another chance meeting would bring them together.

Musicians Dan S (bass) and John "Jammin' JD" Ross met in the Fall of 1983 one time. It would be over a year later in the Fall of 1984 when another chance meeting would bring them together.
The band played a variety of bars, frat houses, coffee houses, and entered in Battle of the Band competitions. The band is best known for their house party performances at 712 Queen Street, and in the white house on the corner of Ace Street. Some of the craziest parties happened in these houses. The band had some drummer issues during its year in existence. The first drummer was Melanie Hostettler, followed by James Anderson. A few other drummers filled in the gaps here and there. Bassist Dan Snellenbarger ended up playing drums in the studio recording of "Who Killed The Clownz.". The song was self-produced in John McCool's basement 4-track reel-to-reel studio, and was featured on THE MUNCIE SAMPLER, which was put together by Bob Chaos. The studio version of "Who Killed The Clownz" resides on THE MUNCIE SAMPLER website. Rhythm guitarist Mike Crisci parted ways with the band at some point, due to various differences, and keyboardist Dwight "Kilo" Keillor came in to fill in the gaps.
With the end of the school year came the end of the band. They tried various solo projects (Dan and Cuozzo worked together until 1996) and introduced some new drummers, but were unable to capture the magic that was The Beertonez. Long Live The Beertonez!
